BLOG POST #7: BEYOND THE BRAND - CBU & OUR PLANET

The Back Story: 

Since starting this home-based business in 2022, I have learned so much about getting the best and most use from the materials I use to make the products I create:

• I remember how I use to keep all my scrap cut-offs in 2 separate bins (1 for Lg pieces and 1 for Sm pieces) Over time I would throw too many pieces in the recycling bin on my street because (quite frankly) I didn't have the space to store it all in my shop. Over time I learned to organize all the pieces and throw away those that were either too small (a safety hazard) or otherwise unusable.
•  I would shut off all my tools at the end of the day but leave everything plugged in for extended periods of time. Now that people in CT I can barely keep the lights on because electricity here is RIDICULOUSLY HIGH! I have a whole new way to conserve energy.
• My biggest "planet waster" was not knowing  what to do with the solvents and/or chemical solutions I had to throw away after realizing that the lids were not replaced securely. Now that I know how to check the containers, how to safely dispose of them, as well as the cloths used along with them - I feel much more responsible.

CBU & Our Planet Now: 

Yes, I have learned so much since the beginning of this journey and I continuously look for ways to save Our Planet and my money in the process. I fully realize that there is always going to be something else to learn and put in place to make this earth safer for all of our futures. At CBU We are always looking for ways we can prioritize sustainability cut down on waste, by re-using what we used to throw out. believe in creating products that 

What sets CBU apart from other brands?

CBU isn't just another faceless business churning out products for the masses. We'd like to think we are a brand that has to stay connected to the earth for the success of all of us. When you buy a CBU product, you're not just buying a thing - you're buying into a movement. It matters to us that approximately 80% of the products we sell are recyclable; and the other 20% - more often than not - can be re-purposed. 

How can you get involved with CBU's mission?

It's simple, really! Just keep supporting Small Business Owners like CBU Creations who are environmentally responsible and who don't just take from the earth but care for it. By using things that come from the earth that are not harmful to it. Thus, it can be returned back to the earth when where done. Then, over time; these things can be used by the person and/or generation who will use the object next. The more people who know about our mission, the greater the impact on our planet.
